Visitation is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. today and Sunday, also at Malcom's.

The 68-year-old Lewiston resident died of Lou Gehrig's Disease Thursday at her home.

She was born Sept. 30, 1923, at Mountain, Wis., to Anton and Hattie Collins Champagne.

She married Joe D. Broncheau May 29, 1958, at Asotin.

She worked as a waitress at the Kendrick Cafe and George's Cafe at Lewiston. She also worked as a maid at Lewiston's Bollinger Hotel and Sacajawea Motor Inn.

She received a certificate for dietician training from Lewis-Clark State College at Lewiston.

As a dietician, she worked at Neva's Residential Care Center, Lewiston Care Center, Orchard's Villa Nursing Center, and North Idaho Children's Home, all at Lewiston, as well as the Orofino Care Center.

She later worked as a cook for the Head Start program at Lapwai and was a caretaker at Spokane from 1984 to May 1991, when ill health forced her retirement.

She was a former member of the Eagles, the Banana Belt Fiddlers and the Idaho Old Time Fiddlers. A member of the Orchards Christian Church at Lewiston, she enjoyed fishing, crocheting, knitting and dancing.

Survivors include her husband of Lewiston; a daughter, Sandi McFarland of Culdesac; five sisters, Ruby Desjarlais of Oconto, Wis., Della Hall of Eugene, Ore., Lizzie Champagne of Redmond, Wash., Margaret Samuels of Clearwater, Neb., and Cora Alfrey of Culdesac; and three grandsons.

Six brothers, four sisters and a daughter died previously.

The family suggests memorials be sent to the St. Joseph Family Hospice, P.O. Box 816, Lewiston 83501.
