Armand W. "Jack" Nolette, 85, of Cathlamet, died April 2, 1996, at St. John Medical Center. He was born Nov. 27, 1910, in Central Falls, RI, to George and Anna Morreau Nolette.
He came to the local area from Portland in 1981. He fixed shoe-repair machinery across the United States for about 20 years. From 1960 to 1981, he operated a shoe repair shop in Portland. He was a member of Cathlamet Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which he joined in 1990, and the Elochoman Grange. He was an avid fisherman, loved gardening, flowers and travel.
On April 29, 1990, in Cathlamet he married Thelma Callahan, and she survives, with two daughters, Nancy Boylan of Longview, and Nita Schmidt of Cathlamet; four sisters, Blanche Trembley in Florida, Margaret Talbot in Maine, and Loretta DuCharme and Irene DuCharme, both in Rhode Island; 4 grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 am Friday at his church with Richard Garvin officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Cathlamet.
