Mrs. Lavaughn Atkinson Tanner, 87, of Hazlehurst, died Wednesday February 26, 2014. Funeral service was held Saturday March 1, 2014 from the Chapel of Miles Funeral Home with the Rev. Dwayne Atkinson officiating. Interment followed in the Douglas City Cemetery. Mrs. Tanner was born in West Green, Georgia to the late Brady Atkinson and Arlow Cothern Atkinson. She was the widow of the late Gilman Tanner. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Marine and Vonaree, 2 brothers: Simon and Bobby. She was a homemaker. Survivors include 2 sons: Earl Wood(Marta) of Stone Mountain, Ga Brady Tanner(Susan) of Albany; 4 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Miles Funeral Home of Hazelhurst was in charge of arrangements.
