Betty Burchill, 70, Jamestown, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, in Jamestown Hospital.

Betty Ann Nygaard was born Feb. 21, 1931, in Page, N.D., where she grew up and attended school. She graduated from high school in 1948. She married Carroll Burchill June 19, 1949, in Valley City, N.D. They farmed near Valley City until 1983 when they retired and moved to South Padre Island, Texas. In 1988 they moved to St. Paul and in 1990 they moved to Jamestown, where she worked at the Anne Carlson School until she retired in 1993.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Perry (Kathy), Grand Prairie, N.D., Allen, Jamestown; three daughters, Julie (Raymond) Yanish, Minot, N.D., Darlene (Terry) Odegard, Anoka, Minn., Shari (Scott) Johnson, Jamestown; two sisters, Adeline Weber, Downey, Calif., Dorothy Steele, Seattle; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Today from 9 to 5 and Sunday from 1-9, with a prayer service at 7, in Haut Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.

Funeral: Monday at 11 in Atonement Lutheran Church, Jamestown.

Burial: Memory Gardens Cemetery, Valley City.
