Leslie (Les) Wayne Forester, 67, died on September 25, 2012, in Spokane. He was born in Hutchinson, Kan., on June 13, 1945, the third child of Oliver M. Forester and Ernestine I. Evans. The family moved to Billings, Mont., in 1951 and to Tucson, Ariz., in 1957. He graduated from Catalina High School in 1963 and took business and bookkeeping courses after graduation. He married Betty Jean Heaslett in 1967 and they had one daughter, Cynthia Lee. They later divorced. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1972 and was stationed in the Philippines and Omaha, Neb. After military service, he returned to work at Arizona Portland Cement. In 1981, he moved to Seattle; he worked in the accounting offices of the Seattle Parks Department from 1990 until he retired in 2010. Les loved cars, travel, and the Mariners, and had an encyclopedic memory of personal and family events that made him the family historian.He is survived by his daughter and grandson, Cindy and Joshua Hale; his siblings, Jeane Cubley and Florence Young, Spokane; Nancy Carlyle, Monroe; and Doug Forester, Tucson, Ariz.; and cousins, nieces and nephews. He was loved greatly and will be missed by family and many friends.
