Dean "Benny" A. McManus, 78 of Barron died Saturday, August 17, 2013 his home. He was born April 13, 1935 in Barron, Wisconsin the son of Aubrey and Grace (Tabor) McManus. He grew up in Barron and graduated from Baron High School. He served in the U.S. Army for four years. Dean married Gerry McCorkle on August 21, 1959. He went to work for Berg's Transfer and worked there many years. He retired in 2000.
Dean's hobbies were hunting, fishing and reading. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Dean also liked making Maple Syrup with his brother Bob.
He is survived by his sons Pat (Heather) McManus of Dallas, WI; Dean Stewart McManus of Rice Lake, WI; daughters Donna McManus of Whitehall, WI; Carol Olson of Minneapolis, MN; Cherol (Sarah) McManus of Canon Falls, MN; Rebecca Snell of Boyceville, WI; 2 granddaughters, 7 grandsons; brothers Bob (Marie) McManus of Barron, WI; Dern (Jo) McManus of Barron, WI; nieces, nephews, cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 brother Don.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Rausch & Steel Funeral Home in Barron with Rev. Mary Anne Conklin officiating. Visitation will be held at Rausch & Steel Funeral Home in Barron on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
