Richard R. Killoren, 82, for many years a prominent livestock broker in the Horton area, died at the Horton Community Hospital Saturday, April 22, 1978. He had been a patient since March 28. He had cancer. Richard "Dick" Killoren was born at Powhattan August 24, 1895, and had lived at Kennekuk for many years, and where he and his wife continued to live following his retirement. Dick was a veteran of WW 1. He was married to the former Virginia Peabody who survives. Dick was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Horton American Legion Post. Besides his wife, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Margaret Tyler, Horton. Services were at the Chaney Chapel with burial in the Muscotah cemetery.
Although Richard Killoren's birth year is given as 1895 in his obit and in all known official records, his birth was announced in the 16 Aug 1894 Horton Commercial (one year earlier).
