Mrs Howard C. Chadden
Her untimely death is regretted by all who knew her.

Norwich, March 15, especially sad are the circumstances attending the death of Pearl A. Chadden, wife of Howard C. Chadden, which occurred at her home on Truman Avenue on Saturday. Mrs. Chadden was only 22 years of age & leaves two small children and a invalid Father.

About five years ago Mr. Chadden suffered an injury to his back but thinking it was nothing serious continued to work for his wife and little ones until a few days later his back became paralized and he has since been unable to walk. Mrs. Chadden had been ill a brief and was confined to her bed only two days when her heart became affected and her death followed.

Deceased was born in Homer, Cortland County, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Eugene Schermerhorn and was united in marriage to Mr. Chadden about five years ago. For the past 3 years they lived in Norwich. Mr. Chadden was industrious and had built a little home on Thulman Avenue and their family circle was a happy one until this strange series of affliction came upon them.

Besides the husband and the two little daughters, Agnes Mary, age 5 years and Helen, aged 13 months.Mrs. Chadden is survived by her parents now residents of South Edmeston, by four sisters, Mrs. Katie Bellow and Mary Schermerhorn York City;Mrs. Martha Shutters of Oneonta, & Bessie Schermerhorn of South Edmeston and 3 brothers, Claude, Carl & Harry, all of South Edmeston.

Funeral services were held from her late home, on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. John L. Ray officiating. The remains were placed in the receiving vault to Mount Hope Cemetery awaiting burial.
