Obituary: Moretha (Neel) Miller-Lyman
HAVEN - Moretha Miller-Lyman, 97, passed away Aug. 12, 2013, at Wesley Towers in Hutchinson, Kan. She was born Nov. 4, 1915, to Walter and Edna Neel, in Windom, and grew up in Hutchinson.

In 1937, she married Clark C. Miller at her parents home in Hutchinson. The couple lived on their farm until his death in 1983. She married Floyd Lyman of Hutchinson and they lived in Haven until 2008, when they moved to Wesley Towers. She was a homemaker, an avid quilter and state fair prizewinner, member of Haven Church of Christ, the Hutchinson Quilt Guild and Haven Bridge Club. Her children and their spouses are: Mike and Ann Francisco of Tucson, Ariz., Sam and Jeanne Wheeler of Sonora, Calif., Patty Miller of Haven, the late Marilyn Miller-Unruh, Doug and Pam Lyman of Springfield, Mo., Ginger and Kent Hayes, Richard and Charlie Lyman, and Terry Lyman, all of Lawrence, Becky and Kelly Lyman, both of Hutchinson. She has 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Her siblings are sisters, Marlene Nininger and Ineta Studebaker, both of Hutchinson; and her late brothers, Dr. Wilbur Neel and Ailiff Neel. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Edna Neel of Hutchinson.

The funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at the Haven Church of Christ in Haven. Internment will be at Penwell Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
