WEST BRANCH, Iowa - B. Marguerite Kennedy Brown, 92, died Thursday July 7, 2011, at the Crestview Care and Rehab Center, West Branch. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory.
Mrs. Brown was born Sept. 3, 1918, in West Liberty, the daughter of Joe and Bertha Barnhart Kennedy. She was a graduate of West Liberty High School in the Class of 1936. She became a caretaker as a young person following the death of her mother. For most of her life she was a farm wife, on a farm in West Liberty then moving to West Branch in 1944. She was a caretaker later in life, caring for many in her family and friends. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, gardener, cook, baker and was most noted for her generosity.
Survivors include two children, Beverly Brown and Keith (Jolene) Brown, West Branch; two grandchildren, Callista (Geoff) Isabelle, Hamden, Conn. and Miranda (Joseph) Mizelle of Fairfield and their two children Noah and Aiden; sister, Bevelyn Ranshaw, Coralville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mildred Fitzgerald; and three brothers, Arlie, Gale and Wayne Kennedy.
