In 1908, Sadie married Charles Elijah Minkler (1884-1926), in New Jersey. They had three sons and four daughters. On January 19, 1920, Sadie lived in Hancock, Vermont, with her husband, two sons, two daughters, her brother-in-law and his wife, and Sadie's sister.

On July 15, 1926, Sadie's husband Charles (41) died in an accident at the Vermont Marble Company in Rochester, Vermont. Charles had been employed there for over a year. He was survived by his wife Sadie and seven children, ages 14 years through 2 years.

On April 5, 1930, she was the head of house and lived in Rochester, Vermont, with her three sons and four daughters. Her occupation was a laundress at home. In 1932, Sadie and her ​children lived in Stamford, Connecticut.
