Miss Elizabeth Finley , 95, of Jackson, died Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at her residence. Miss Finley was born October 25, 1913 in Butts County. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Katie Danielly Finley, an old Pioneer family of Butts County. She was retired from the Butts County School System as a much loved school teacher. Miss Finley was a life-long member of the Jackson United Methodist Church and was devoted to activities of the church.
Survivors include her nephews, Dan Finley of Rumson, NJ; Fred B. Finley of Palm City, FL; William G. Finley of Charlotte, NC; five great nieces and nephews; two great-great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Nancy Finley of Gulf Stream, FL.
Memorial services for Miss Elizabeth Finley were held Saturday, February 21, 2009 from the Jackson United Methodist Church. Rev. Dr. Phil Demore and Rev. Lisa Derrick officiated. Private interment services were conducted in the Jackson City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Jackson United Methodist Church, 409 East Third Street, Jackson, GA 30233.
