William R. Edwards, 75, well-known farmer of Freeman township for 45 years, died Wednesday, October 27, at his home one mile east and one mile north of Dickens, death resulting from heart disease.
Funeral services will be held Friday with arrangements pending the arrival of the decident's daughter, Mrs. Bertha Johnson of Dahlgren, Ill. Rev. W.O. Thompson of Spencer, M.E. pastor, will conduct the services. Burial will be made in the Dickens cemetery.
William R. Edwards was born in England, the son of William and Ann Edwards. When ten years of age he migrated to America with his parents and they located on a farm near Kenosha, Wis.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Bertha Johnson of Dahlgren, Ill., a son, Francis Edwards of Dickens, two step-daughters, Mrs. Berdie Raab of Dickens and Mrs. Goldie Cederholm of Denton, Mont., six grandchildren, three brothers, A.J. Edwards of Atwater, Minn., J.G. Edwards of Aberdeen, S.D., and E.C. Edwards of Williamsburg, and three sisters, Mrs. Nora Alger of Dickens, Mrs. Alice Pickle of Atwater, Minn., and Miss Ann Edwards of Dickens.
