Mrs. Stockel was accidentally killed by the discharge of a shot gun.
Mr. Stockel had been out hunting and stood the gun against a barrel in the yard. The inquest stated the gun fell and was discharged.

Later one of her sisters came forward claiming fowl and the case was re-opened. Her husband was acquitted when the daughter said she had accidentally shot her mother trying to extract a cartridge from the barrel.

Anton left the area and remarried.
