William was a Private & a Commissary Sargeant in Company I of the 14th KY Cavalry. He was born in 1826/27 & died March 4, 1905. He married first Esther Baker, second Jane or Jeanie Baker, third in 1871 to Mary Ann Carmack Crawford. He and Esther divorced in 1845. According to testimony in William's pension application, his 2nd wife died some 10 years before he married Mary Ann.
