Obituary - PAUL E. BIEDELMAN (sic)
Paul E. Beidelman was born Nov. 3, 1893 in Cincinnati, Ohio. His parents were Titus and Adelaide Beidelman. He died, after several months illness, Aug. 9, 1951, at the Veterans Hospital in Grand Island.
Due to his profession of "show business," Paul shortened his name to "Delman" and used this name for the balance of his life.
Mr. Delman was a veteran of World War I in the Marine Corps. He enlisted July 15, 1917 and was discharged April 12, 1919.
He came to Hebron in December, 1923 and has lived here practically all that time. Before coming to Hebron he started in the show work with several large circuses. He worked with the Hatcher and Chick Boyes Players. His specialty was singing and character parts. His tenor blended in those days with those specialties between the acts when "still" slides were shown to illustrate the sentimental songs of a quarter of a century ago. He also conducted a radio program at the York station for several years.
Paul's mother died in 1902 and his father in 1923. He leaves his wife, Ethel; one sister, Estelle of Chicago and a brother, Clarence J. of Indianapolis, Ind.
He was baptized in the Catholic faith in Nov. 19, 1893, at Holy Angelo, Cincinnati.
Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart Church on August 11, 1951.
Interment was made in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The American Legion conducted graveside services.
