Lieut. Ebenezer Avery, Veteran of the American Revolution. He fell at Fort Griswold in a battle with the British.

He was christened on 25 Mar 1733 in First Church of Groton.

He married Phebe Denison on Jun 11,1761 at Groton,CT. She later married Jonathan Fish.

Children: Ebenezer Avery III, Lucy Avery Morgan(mother of Elias Morgan), Elizabeth Avery Miner, Hezekiah Avery, Henry Avery, and Cyrus Avery.
