From the local newspaper; After a year or more of suffering, often to an intense degree, from cancer, John Reeves succumbed to the King of Terrors on Wednesday evening last at about nine o'clock. But death to Mr. Reeves had no terrors; it was rather welcomed as an agel of relief. The deceased, a son of the late Thomas Reeves and the only brother of Mrs. Edmund Cushing was a resident of our city for the past thirty years and was therefore so well known to most of our readers as to render a lengthy obituary notice quite unnecessary. He made his home with Mr. Cushing of late and when death at length summoned him he was found to be reconciled and "only waiting". The deceased was aged 42 years. His funeral largely attended was had on this (Friday) fournoon from the Catholic church. Peace to his ashes.
