CARTWRIGHT, Okla. - Mrs. Betty Jo Pendergrass, 66, of Cartwright, Okla. passed away on Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013 at Texas Health WNJ, Sherman.

Betty was born Sept. 21, 1946 in Mineral Wells to Bryant Johnson and Jacqueline Ballinger.

She was married to Marion Pendergrass in 1961 in Parker County, who survives her.

Betty was a high school graduate and was a nurse in Home Health Care.

Betty has lived in the area the past 22 years, moving here from Mineral Wells.

She is survived by her husband, Marion, of the home and three children, Tina Pendergrass of Mineral Wells, Tammy Pendergrass of Mesa, Billy Pendergrass and Sandra of Calera, Okla. She has two sisters, Lyndia McFarland and David, Penn, and Norma Jean Ballinger of Mineral Wells. There are three brothers, Bryant L. of Johnson, Ala., Buddy Ballinger and Helen of Kansas, and Harvey Ballinger and Marilyn, Texas.

Her nine grandchildren are Donald Joe, Dustin, Coby, Zachary, Angelica, Kera, Stephanie, Bradley, Kassie.

The four great-grandchildren are Dallas, Alicia, Jerry and Jeremy.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Patty Green.

The family will host a visitation from 6 -8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16 in their home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 in the American Funeral Service Chapel, 107 N. Burney St. Colbert, Okla., with Pastor David Fowler officiating.

Interment will follow at the Rose Wood Cemetery in Achille, Okla.

Pallbearers serving are Zachary Green, Jose Perez, Wayland Russell, Calvin Garrett, Jason Tomlinson, Kerry Williams and Jim Bob Meeks.

Honorary bearers are Josh House, Bradley Pendergrass, Tammy Pendergrass, Matthew Copeland and Nicholas Copeland.
