Isaac Cross, Aged 73 years, died Saturday morning, 10-Sep-1921 at the home of his son, Earl Cross at Wichita, where he had made his home for some time. Mr. Cross was born in Clinton County, Ohio, and came with his parents to this county when about 15 yrs old. The family settling on Clarks Creek, near Skiddy, about 1861, and this county had been his home since that time. Mr. Cross married Mary C. Harris, daughter of George W. and Ida A. (McClellan) Harris on 26-Dec-1880 at Humboldt Creek, Davis County. Mary C. died 14-Jun-1897 and was buried in Skiddy Cemetery, Geary County, Kansas. He is survived by four sons, Earl of Wichita, Clarence of Utica, Kansas, Charles of Manhattan, Kansas and Ed of Enterprise vicinity.
John W. Cross of Chapman, Ed Cross of Enterprise, Mrs. George Heidel of Hollywood, California, and Mrs. Frank Bentley of Dwight vicinity are brother and sister of the deceased. Mr. Cross was a quiet unassuming man, who held the respect and confidence of all. Tthe funeral was held yesterday afternoon and burial was in Skiddy Cemetery.--From the Junction City Republic, 9-15-1921, page 1 column 3.
