Fredericka Mews (or Meffs, we have 2 records with 2 different married names) NOW WE HAVE 3 RECORDS-on my G-grandmother Augusta Budtke-Toepfer's Mortuary Obituary it is typed "Meffs" as being the surviving sister and brother William Buttke of Auburndale."

However, on my grandmother Elsa Toepfer-Puntenney's baptism cert as a witness it looks like the signature is FREDERICKA "Mews".

The marriage record for Fredericka Butdke and Albert Carl Mews (Meus- (MISPELLED) was Dec. 6, 1888 and has the name of Fredericka's mother, Wilhelmina Bartelt and father Ferdinand Budtke. Albert's father's name was Frederick Meus and his mother was Caroline Thomas. as per Sandy Middleton, co-contributor.

The obit for Friederika says, "born Germany 10 June 1870" it also has the name of her parents, "Ferdinand Budtke and Catherine Budtke. And an only sister Augusta, died 4 years ago" Her surviving brother William is also named.

Her son was Edward Alfred Mews memorial # 102057573
BORN: Nov 5 1895 and DIED: Oct. 1 1996 just before his 101st birthday.

Heard from a Budtke Cuz' YEAH!!!
Suggested Edit: No changes to suggest, but Friederika Budtke Mews was my great-great-grandmother. Her daughter Martha Mews Brodhagen, was my great-grandmother (married to Frank Brodhagen, Sr.) Martha had several siblings (Edward, John, Walter, Mathilda (Ledger), Loraine (Gandt), and I might be missing one more. Martha and Frank Brodhagen had 4 children, Frank Edward Robert, Delmar, Goldie, and Wilbert (died in infancy in 1922, buried in St. John's Cemetery in Auburndale.) Frank Jr. was my grandfather. Thank you for all the great information! Love the photos!
