Christopher, age 25, was a Medic in C Company, 2nd Battalion, the 504th Parachute Infantry, from Fort Bragg, NC.

He died on Tuesday, August 9, from injuries suffered in a roadside blast while on patrol near Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan.

He was awarded the Bronze Star, The Purple Heart and Good Conduct Medal in a memorial service held by his Company in Afghanistan on August 11th.

Chris was the loving son of Michael and Kathleen Katzenberger, beloved brother of Amanda, dearest grandson of Al (Minnie) Katzenberger and the late Richard (Kathleen) Henry, loving nephew of Peggy (John) Fuller, Judy (Wally) Pomirko. Rich (Sheila) Henry and the late Judith Beeghly. Chris was our dear cousin and friend to many.
