Patricia "Trish" Abernathy of Burlington, WA was born in Oakland, CA on April 24, 1931, the daughter of Junius and Elizabeth (Conlow) Day.

Trish married the love of her life William "Bill" Abernathy on April 2, 1951. He had served in the US Navy. They lived in the Bay Area of CA where Bill worked for the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory at the University of California.

Trish was an outstanding programmer in the early days of the computer industry, utilizing early computer languages such as "COBAL". She was employed by the Hexcel Corp. of San Ramon, CA, and Crowley Marine in San Francisco. She traveled extensively in her work, maintaining an updated interest in technology throughout her life.

She and Bill personally committed themselves to Christ in about 1990 because of the encouragement of her friend Ruth Youngsman.

Bill and Trish enjoyed their travel trailer and were active members of the Airstream Travel Club. They traveled around the USA until his death October 27, 2000.

She was a very much loved member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Mount Vernon, WA, her quilting group and her neighbors at The Cedars in Burlington. Physically, her heart was weak but her capacity to love was great.

Trish entered into the presence of her Lord August 8, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Bellingham, WA while recuperating from heart surgery.

Her Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, August 16, 2013 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Mount Vernon, WA.

Arrangements are under the care of Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, WA.
