KEARNEY - Rose Lee Legates, 79, of Kearney died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home with the Rev. Stan Murdoch officiating. O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home is
in charge of the arrangements.

She was born Feb. 25, 1934, in St. Mary's, W.Va., to Herman and Mary Farson.

On July 1, 1957, she married Charles Legates Jr. in Blair.

Survivors include her husband; sons, John Legates and his wife, Jennifer, of Grand Island and Gary Legates and his wife, Jamie, and Charles E. Legates and his wife, Glenda, all of Kearney; daughters, Naomi Schwarz and her husband, Tony, Connie Blankenship and her husband, Brian, and Bonnie Volker and her husband, Bill, all of Kearney; grandchildren, Bryan Schwarz, Hannah and Isaiah Legates, Jared Blankenship and Samantha and Drew Volker; sisters, Frances Farson and Janice Farson, both of West Virginia; brothers, Phillip Farson and Raymond Farson, both of West Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.

She worked as a waitress for several years and later owned and operated Legates Home Café in Wilsonville. Rose Lee was very active in her children's lives. Her hobbies included crafts, cake decorating, camping and fishing. Rose Lee was a member of First Baptist Church in Wilsonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Charlotte Legates; and sister, Caroline Sue Farson.
