Dennis E. Bornholtz, 66, Sarasota, Fla., former Sioux City resident, died June 21, 1988, in a hospital in Sarasota after a short illness. The body was cremated.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Michael Catholic Church in Sioux City with the Rev. Jerome Cosgrove officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. in Larkin Northside Funeral Home.

Mr. Bornholtz was born July 25, 1921, in Hinton, Iowa. He graduated from Central High School in Sioux City in 1940.

He married Helen McFarland Dec. 31, 1955 in California.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict, retiring after 20 years of service.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, William Bornholtz of Sarasota and Carl Reasen of Nokomis, Fla., and a sister, Lucile Richardson of Hinton, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and William Bornholtz and a brother, Wayne.

A memorial has been established in his name with the American Cancer Society.
