Odelia was the second wife of Peter Ruch of Switzerland who immigrated in 1873. They were married on 17 September 1895 in Lucas County. She had previously married Anthony/Anton/Antony Berning of Germany on 20 September 1855 in Auglaize County, and was the mother of nine children with seven surviving: Mary Elizabeth(1857), Henry (1859), John(1861), Theodore(1863), Joseph(1866), Clancy(1869)and Herman(1872).She was probabaly the daughter of John and Susan Kemper (Camper).
