Daughter of Frank and Lucy (Board) Gipson. Born while the family was living in Edgar Township, Illinois. By 1904 the family had moved back to Boone County, Indiana where Ruby grew up and attended Lebanon High School until 1918. The family moved to Crawfordsville, Indiana where Ruby graduated in 1920. She, like her sister Nelle, attended Franklin College in Franklin, Indiana. She married Freeman Hybarger 5 Sep 1922 at her parents home in Crawfordsville. Moved around a lot with Freeman's job. They had two daughters, Patricia and Beverly.
