In the death of Mrs. Eleanor Doan, aged 78 years and 3 months, which occurred at the home of her granddaughter Mrs. Orville Edwards, where she was visiting on Wednesday, February 17th. The Triumph District has lost one of its best known and most highly respected members. Grandma Doan, as she was known by old and young, always had a cheery smile for all.

Coming to Biggar with her husband, the late Ephraim Doan, from Watford, Ontario in the spring of 1910. They moved on a farm seven miles south of Biggar where Mr. Doan died in 1913. For the past few winters she has lived with her children. She leaves a family of nine--John, Stanley, Ernest, Mrs. George McLean, and Mrs. Ada Ward at Biggar, William M. at Saskatoon, Mrs. Chess Corristine, Watford Ont., George, Inwood, Ont., and Alvin, Marlete, Mich. One son, Robert of Biggar, and one daughter, Mrs. W.T. Fuller of Saskatoon died of flu in 1918.

The Funeral on Friday, from the home of her daughter Mrs. George McLean was largely attended. The service was preached by Rev. T.T. Stephens of the United Church. The casket, covered with flowers, was carried by the sons John, Will, Stanley, Ernest, Ben and George McLean.

Of her it can be truly said "Her place will be hard to fill."
