A Lady of the Old School
Mrs. R. R. Ledbetter, widow of the late R. R. Ledbetter, died recently at her home in Jackson. Dick was our comrade in arms during the years of 1861-5, and a personal friend to the day of his death. His wife was a lady and belonged to the old school of Jackson’s early settlers and best people, being intelligent, charitable and modest, loving her husband and friends and making her home the most comfortable and pleasant place to him on earth, and when he was called hence, she could not long survive him. The hope of joining him in the great beyond made her doubtless hail with joy the approach of her dissolution.—Lexington Advertiser.
