Joy Lou (Moore) Lamb, 81, lifelong resident of the Duncan area, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2013 in Duncan.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday, August 16, 2013 at New Hope Baptist Church West with the Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. Burial will follow at Duncan Cemetery under the direction of the Don Grantham Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Joy was born February 1, 1932 outside of Duncan to Irving L. and Cecil (Scott) Moore. She was a graduate of Duncan High School and attended Business College in Oklahoma City. Joy married Bobby Harold "Bob" Lamb on July 14, 1951 in Duncan and he preceded her in death on July 5, 2008.
Joy worked alongside her husband in the early years at Lamb's Aero Clinic at the Duncan Airport and later at their Insurance agency. She was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church West and enjoyed the fellowship with her church family.
Joy is survived by four children: Ronnie Lamb and wife Virginia of Wichita Falls, TX, Debra Funderburg and husband Gus of Dumfries, VA, Sherri Mullen and husband Joe of Oklahoma City, OK and Nancy Mullen and husband Chuck of Duncan; two sisters: Norma Jenkins and husband Charlie and Judy Nickell and husband Bueford and a sister-in-law, Maida Moore all of Duncan; nine grandchildren: Jason Whetstone, Valerie Lee, Richard Funderburg, Christopher Funderburg, Jeffrey Funderburg, Jessica Cook, Eric Mullen, Lindsey Mullen and Jared Mullen; nineteen great-grandchildren and a host of other family and close friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ronald L. Moore.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons & great-grandsons; Jason Whetstone, Eric Mullen, Jared Mullen, Colby Whetstone, Chase Whetstone and Gauge Kern. Honorary bearers will be Rex Moore, Richard Funderburg, Christopher Funderburg and Jeffrey Funderburg.
