Jeffery Lee Moore

Jeffery Lee Moore, 56, of Prescott, Ariz., closed his earthly flight plan on July 23, 2013, and entered the gates of heaven. He was born in Chino Valley, Ariz., to Oakley David and Frances Irene Moore.

Jeff grew up in Chino Valley. He attended Chino Valley and Prescott schools, where he participated in sports, music and 4-H activities. He graduated from Yavapai College and continued his education throughout his life by earning paramedic certifications as well as private and commercial pilot licenses.

He retired from the city of Prescott Fire Department as an engineer paramedic after serving the tri-city area for 20 years. In 2004, he became a fixed-wing pilot and worked for Papillon/Grand Canyon Airlines, Westwind Aviation and Go Jet Airlines. Other jobs he enjoyed include working as a flight medic, teaching CPR/first aid classes, assisting at YCPAC and area churches with sound and staging, and umpiring for city league softball.

Jeff enjoyed a diverse life including music, softball, golf, hunting, fishing, camping, cooking and traveling. He served a mission in England, sang the Mozart Requiem at Carnegie Hall and represented the USA in an International Choral Festival in Gorizia, Italy.

Jeff is survived and will be dearly missed by his spouse Laura Moore of Prescott; and his children Ryan (Karlie) Moore of Corvallis, Ore., and Cara Moore of Santa Monica, Calif., Rachel (Albert) Semprun of Prescott, Ariz., and Johnathon Francis of Prescott. He is also survived by his brothers, James (Marlene) Cooper of Ramona, Calif., Michael (Donna) Kovacs of Hawthorne, Nev., and Tony (Genevieve) Kovacs of Sierra Vista, Ariz.

An open visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2013 at Hampton Funeral Home, 240 S. Cortez in downtown Prescott.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013 at The Heights Church on Larry Caldwell Drive, Prescott, Ariz.
