Rachel was the daughter of Benjamin and Rachel Jasper Crownover. She married Abel Fike, 1805, in the Pendleton District, Anderson Co., South Carolina.

Soon after starting their family they left South Carolina and headed west. The settled in Hopkins Co., Kentucky for awhile and then moved further north into Illinois. They eventually settled in St. Clair County.

Rachel died in either late 1814 or early 1815, leaving Abel with several young children. Abel later married Nancy Land Crownover, who was the widow of Rachel's younger brother Joseph.
