Saturday Johns
After an illness of considerable duration during which he suffered from a
complication of ailments, Saturday Johns, a well known resident of the first
ward of Stroudsburg, died at his home 33 North Third street, at 11:30
yesterday. Although he had been in failing health for some time, he was
fatally stricken rather suddenly at the last.
Mr. Johns was section foreman on the Erie railroad and an industrious and
unassuming man who had many friends. He was 58 years of age, and was a member
of St. Matthew's Catholic church. He leaves his wife, Agnes, and ten children,
Henry, Frank, Charles, Harry and Fred, Mrs. Alice Capone, Mrs. Brush, of East
Stroudsburg; Mrs. Leila Featherman, of Stroudsburg; Anna, at home; Mrs.
Antonio Panzy of Stroudsburg; a sister Mrs. Jenny Remil, and a brother,
Joseph, of Pittston.
Interment will be in St. Matthew's Catholic cemetery, East Stroudsburg, Glenn
W. Kisor being the funeral director.
