Samuel Cleveland of Canterbury. Margaret was subsequently raised in the Cleveland household at Canterbury where she had six elder step-siblings and two half-siblings, latter the children of her mother and stepfather.
On Sept. 25, 1717 of record at Canterbury, Conn., Margaret m. Capt. Gideon Cobb, eldest ch. of Henry Cobb and Lois Hallet(t), b. Apr. 11, 1691 at Barnstable, Mass. He d. Feb. 22, 1759 at Canterbury, Æ 68. Their marriage is also recorded in the Stonington, Conn. records, but erroneously recorded her as "Margaret Cleveland" using her step-father's surname. Margaret and Gideon had two known children, who are outlined in their father's memorial.
