Mr James Edwards, a well known citizen, and one of the first who volunteered for service in the Union Army at the breaking out of the late war, died of apoplexy at his late residence, comer of Seventh and L Streets SouthEast, Saturday afternoon. He was for a number of years one of the deputy United States marshals, and was a member of John A. Rawlins Post - No. 1, G. A. R., and of Harmony Lodge No 9, I.O.O.F. which bodies will attend his funeral tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon at 5 p.m.
