June loved spending time with her husband of 54 years, Bob Currier; together they would go dancing and listen to 1940's Big Band music. Most precious to her was her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. June was a 72 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Yondota Chapter, No. 317 and lifetime Auxiliary member of the VFW Post # 2898.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Bob" Currier in 2011. June is survived by her son, John DeWitt; daughter, Leslie (Doug) Walters; grandchildren, Celeste (Jason Sherwood) Moore, Jason DeWitt, Randi (Mike Skiba) Henning, Michelle DeWitt and Shane (Adrian Burnard) Henning; great-grandchildren, Darren Cully, Demi Moore, Ayanna Skiba and Nevaeh Conklin; brother, Rev. Kenneth Fuller; nieces, Sandy, Debbie, Donna, Laura and Rosie; nephews, Dale, Tim, Dennis and Chuck.
The family will receive guests on Monday, August 12, 2013, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). VFW Services will begin at 7:00 p.m. and Eastern Star Services will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home. Funeral Services will begin Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Disabled Veterans of America, Honor Flight of Northwest Ohio or Toledo Northwestern Ohio Food Bank.
June's family would like to specially thank her granddaughter, Randi for the diligent care and love she provided to her, also to two very important little helpers, Demi and Ayanna.
