Mrs. Moloney-Best died Tuesday in Grass Valley. She was 67.
She was born July 10, 1938, in London, England, to William I. Moloney and Madeline McCarthy. She spent part of World War II in London subways, avoiding German bombs and rocket attacks. After the war she moved to Limerick, Ireland. She graduated from Holy Redeemer High School in Flint, Mich., and The University of California, Davis. She had a master's degree from Sacramento State College. She was married three times. She divorced once, was widowed once and married her last husband, Dr. John A. Best, in Flushing, Mich., on June 20, 1982. Her passion was horticulture and she was a master gardener and composter. She was also a writer and produced articles for the Auburn Journal, among other newspapers. She was well traveled, especially to Europe.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. John A Best of Grass Valley; sons Michael Conroy of Yuba City, Andrew Glomson of Grass Valley, Sean Glomson of Lincoln and Daniel Glomson of Grand Blanc, Mich.; daughters Mary Crites of Apple Valley, Minn., and Annemarie Sullivan of Salinas; and grandchildren Brittany Conroy, Chase Conroy, Lauren Glomson, Aidan Conroy, Elizabeth Glomson, Kaetlyn Sullivan and baby Sullivan.
