Graveside services for Zada Mae Bartsch-Hedger of Nevada City will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Nevada City.
She will be interned with her granddaughter, Karen Dorris Orazzli, next to her daughter, Anna Fern Dorris and her husband, Oliver Hedger
.
Mrs. Bartsch-Hedger died Wednesday, Dec. 15, in North Highlands. She was 85.
She was born Aug. 17, 1919, in Rockford, Wash., to Wilbur Appleton and Fern Elizabeth (Wing) Curry. She moved to Nevada County when she married Tommy R. Bartsch in January 1935, in St. Marys, Idaho. She was president of the Professional Women's Club.
She is survived by her sisters Ila Albert of Everett, Wash., and Laura Knutson of Washington; brothers Kenneth Curry of Spokane, Wash., and William Curry of Florida; grandchildren, Beverly Bush, Tommy Dorris, Robert Dorris, Kathy Thomas, Cindy Fry, Mike Thomas, Patti Bartsch, Larry Lloyd Bartsch Jr., Pamela Bartsch, and Lori Bartsch; and step-grandchildren Linda Warshaw, Terri Jo Slack; 29 great-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her children Anna Fern Dorris, Tommy R. Bartsch Jr., Verna Mae Thomas and Larry Lloyd Bartsch Sr.; and husbands Tommy R. Bartsch, in 2002, and Oliver Hedger.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
