Barbara Hurst Hodges, age 74, of Putnam, Texas, passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 10th in the Chapel of Parker Funeral Home in Baird, Texas, with Bobby Lane officiating. Interment will follow in Putnam Cemetery.
Barbara was born September 15, 1938, to Kathleen (McDaniel) and Arnold Pruet. She married Al Hodges in 1964. Being a military wife, she moved around to several places before settling in Putnam about 25 years ago. She was a member of the Eastern Star and had served as Worthy Matron.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Kay Wheeler of St. Matthews, South Carolina, and LeAnn Barringer of Woodson, Texas; 1 brother, Glen Pruet of Richardson, Texas; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Al, who passed away in 2002, 2 brothers, Joe Pruet and Floyd Pruet, and her son, Jarrel Hurst, Jr., who passed away this year.
