Services for Betty G. Hill, 74, of The Woodlands, formerly of Lufkin, will be held in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel, Lufkin. Interment will follow in the Rockland Cemetery.

Mrs. Hill was born Jan. 10, 1939, and died Aug. 8, 2013 in The Woodlands.

Funeral services for Betty Gandy Hill, 74, of The Woodlands, formerly of Lufkin, will be held Sunday, August 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Aubrey Knox officiating. Interment will follow in the Rockland Cemetery.

Mrs. Hill was born January 10, 1939 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Mary Ivis (Shedian) and Samuel Bernard Gandy. She died Thursday, August 8, 2013 at St. Luke's Woodlands Hospital.

Mrs. Hill lived in Lufkin most of her life. She retired from her position as Parish Secretary for St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church after 45 years of service. She was a member of Lufkin's First Baptist Church and the Grace Sunday School Class. After moving to The Woodlands, Mrs. Hill was a volunteer for St. Luke's Woodlands Hospital and participated in their Mended Hearts program.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Valerie Lynn and Allen Stringer and granddaughters, Ashleigh, Laura and Jamie Stringer; son and daughter-in-law, Kendal Bernard and Chi Hill, grandchildren, Kenneth Bryan Hill II. and Heather Cameron, and great grandchildren, Kenneth Bruce and Kyler Bryan Hill, Emily and Brody Cameron; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Jim Merritt; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Larry and Nell Hill, Nash and Connie Hogue, and Mary Jo McKay; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Kenneth Bryan Hill, and great grandson, Thomas Robert Cameron.
