Franklin News-Herald, Friday, Jan 25 1985:
Lloyd M. Brecht, 69, of Franklin RD 4, died at 9:20 am Thursday in Franklin Regional Nedical Center, where he was admitted Dec. 8. Son of Nelson Wheeler and Lulu Louise Mealy Brecht, he was born in Endeavor Feb. 19, 1915.

He spent his early life in the Endeavor area, attended schools there, and moved to Oil City in his late teens. He worked as a parts manager for several Ford dealerships in the area, and was retired from Valley Grove School District in 1978 after working there 15 years as a maintenance man. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, active in the Coon and Fox Club when health permitted, and was a member of the Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department.

On Aug. 13, 1939 he married Margaret McMillen, and she survives, with a daughter, Mrs. Robert E. (Gail) Kessler of Sidney, OH; a grandson, Jeffrey Kessler with the Air Force in Germany; four sisters, Mrs. Norman (Goldie) Vogus of East Hickory, Mrs. Arthur (Sylvia) Schrader of Tionesta, Mrs. George (Betty) Stewart of Seneca, and Mrs. Ralph (Anna) Berlin of Tionesta; two brothers, Harold Brecht of Endeavor and Wilkie Brecht of Tionesta; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a brother, Calvin Brecht.

Services will be at 4:30 pm Sunday at Bethel United Methodist Church, with the pastor, Rev. Joseph P. Martin, officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery.
