Teardis was the ninth child born to Edward and Ethel Bogar in Ladonia on Sept. 3, 1932. He was raised in Ladonia and attended Clark High school; he later relocated to California to be near his older brothers. He married Alberta College; and to that union three children were born, Shelia, Teardis Jr. and Tommy. Teardis lived and worked in California for more than 55 years. He moved home to Ladonia in 2009 and united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member until his health begin to fail. Teardis treasured the time he spent with his family in Texas.

Teardis leaves to cherish his memories with his wife, Alberta Bogar, and his children, Shelia Bogar and Teardis Jr., all of California; four sisters, Annie Mae Roseman, Jonell Shaw and Fayrene Cooper of Dallas and Hazel Sheppard of Muskogee, Okla.; one stepsister, Verneice Barnett; one granddaughter and a host of nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ethel Bogar; one son, Tommy Bogar; four sisters, Mattie Stone, Katherine Jones, Louise Carter and Merlie Franklin; four brothers, Clifford Bogar, Thurman Bogar, Eddie Lee Bogar and Robert Bogar; and two stepsisters, Mammie Brown and Dorothy Perry.

His homegoing services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Ladonia with Rev. Cedric Barksdale as the eulogist. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Grace & Mercy-Grundy Funeral Home in Greenville.
