Elizabeth Maxine Kunkel Bridge, 84, died Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana. Maxine was born Feb. 18, 1923 at Cherry Grove, in Montgomery County, Indiana, to Fowler E. Kunkel and Elizabeth B. Vail Kunkel. She married William L. Bridge on September 27, 1941. He died on March 24, 2002.

Surviving are her children Carolyn Bridge of West Lafayette, Marilyn (Lonnie) Brown of Mena, Arkansas, and Michael Bridge of Crawfordsville; and her grandchildren Michele (Tim) Martin of Crawfordsville and Anita Meyer of California. Also surviving are a brother, Ralph Kunkel, of New Richmond and a sister, Marjorie Cox, of Romney. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother Donald, and a sister Betty.

Maxine, above all, loved and was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was an avid reader and loved to cook, having cooked at Coal Creek Central High School, Alpha Tau Omega, and Phi Kappa Psi fraternities at Purdue University. She passed those skills on to daughters Marilyn and Carolyn, niece Vicki and granddaughter Michele.

Friends may call from 10:00 AM Friday, Nov. 2nd until the time of the funeral services at 11:00 AM Friday in Fisher-Loy Funeral Chapel, Lafayette.
