Velma was a seamstress for many years.
Velma is survived by five sons, Jay Dee and wife Dianne Johnson of Nampa, ID, Gerald Lee and wife Linda Johnson of Fayetteville, AR, Dale Franklin Johnson of Berryville, AR, Richard Dwayne and Terry Johnson of Berryville, AR, Roy Eugene Johnson of Berryville, AR; two daughters, Sharlon Doris and husband Steven Harwood of Springdale, AR, Glenda Jean and husband Mike Scott of Berryville, AR; two brothers, George and Betty Clark of Gentry, AR, Roy Clark of San Angelo, TX. She also has 22 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
On September 7, 1940 Velma was united in marriage with Georgie F. Johnson who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Zella Douglas; two brothers, Clifford Clark and Oscar E. Clark; one son, Charles E. Johnson.
Visitations will be 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday April 7, 2010 at the Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the Pension Mountain Cemetery with Brother Jim Sisco officiating. Interment will be at the Pension Mountain Cemetery under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service, Inc.
