Charles Bell, 75 [sic], of Gosport, died Friday afternoon at the Brazil Hospital. He was a retired Monroe County highway employee and had worked for the Showers Furniture Factory and stone quarries.
Mr. Bell, who had spent most of his life in Bloomington, was a native of Uptown [sic], Ky., where he was born on June 9, 1895 [sic], the son of William and Martha Alice (Pruitt) Bell.
He is survived by the widow, Emma [sic]; one daughter, Mrs. Alice Begley of R. 1, Paragon; one son, John of Springfield, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, at the Day Mortuary with the Rev. Orville Frame presiding. Burial will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Jack Noel, Robert Whitaker, Orval Stephens, Jack Morrison, Isaac McCoy and James Reynolds.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:30 to 9:30 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until time of the service on Monday.
