Lester J. Brasher Sr., age 91, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013.
Lester was born in Santa Rosa, NM on February 15, 1922.
Lester was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Margaret Brasher, second wife, Bea Rose Brasher, parents, brothers, C.J. Brasher, and Richard Brasher.
Lester is survived by his brothers, Jerry Brasher, Eugene Brasher and his wife, Vonnie, sister, Alice Brasher Waters, children, Lester Brasher Jr., Beatrice Holman and her husband, Chuck, Rosemarie Vigil and her husband, Victor, seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, step-children, Chris Stein and his wife, Ghia, Loretta Stein and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lester was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Navy. Lester was a local real estate broker and businessman in Grants, NM and the Rio Rancho area for over 35 years.
Visitation will be held at 3:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Rosary at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2013, at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. A Reception will immediately follow the Rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 12, 2013, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Father John Brasher will be the celebrant. Interment to follow at Santa Fé National Cemetery, 501 North Guadalupe Street, Santa Fé, NM.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Lester's honor to St. Mary's Assisted Living Center, 205 7th Street NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102.
