Elmer L. "Sam" Slay, 91, of La Mesa died Nov. 9. He was born in Overton, Neb. Mr. Slay was retired after serving in the Navy from 1924 to 1946.
Survivors include his wife; daughter; sons; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
