Ralph E. Moulesong, Sr., age 86, of Hammond, passed away Monday, June 15, 2009. He is survived by three sons: Ralph Jr. (Diane) of Highland, Roy (Lynne) of Demotte and Robert (Lynda) of Griffith; seven grandchildren: Danielle (Michael) Bates, Nicole, Tony, Jon, Quinn (Kerry), Shannon and Dylan; and eight great grandchildren: Alexa, Miranda and Charlotte Bates, Keegan, Dawson, Ethan, Cody and Riley Moulesong. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at Elmwood Cemetery Chapel, 1413 169th Street, Hammond, IN 46324. Friends may visit with the family at the cemetery from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Ralph was a member of the Navy Seabees and a veteran of World War II. He was stationed in the Pacific for two years during the war. Ralph was employed as a General Foreman at Inland Steel for 37 years and retired in 1982. He was a founding member of the Inland TOPS program which recognized employees for their suggestions and efforts to help the company improve productivity. Ralph was one of the initiators of the Employee of the Month program and was recognized for his efforts to improve working relations between union and management.
