A memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Michele L. Desiano of Grass Valley will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Desiano died Saturday, July 23, in Grass Valley. She was 57.

She was born April 22, 1948, in San Francisco to Michael and Millie Desiano. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School in San Francisco in 1967. She was a member of numerous riding clubs and associations throughout her life, including the San Francisco Jr. Horseman Association, the American Quarter Horse Association, Morgan Horse Association and, most recently, NATRAC. She competed in various riding disciplines throughout her life. She enjoyed competitive trail rides and hunter and jumper competitions. She showed in both Western and English riding events from an early age and continued showing and competing throughout her life. She married Jesse "Art" Baker in August 1996 in San Francisco. She enjoyed raising Jack Russell terriers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and aunt, Marie Miles.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.

Died as a result of an automobile accident, in which her husband died, as well.
