A son of John A. & Mary Catherine (Baechler) Eckroat, he was married to Mary Louise King.

They were the parents of:

1. Margaret Anna Eckroat was born on July 12th 1910 in Spencer, Oklahoma. She died on September 13th 2008 at St. Ann's Retirement Home in Oklahoma City. She was 98 Years old. Service was on Thurs., Sept. 18, 2008, with visitation at 10:00 AM and Mass at 11:00 AM.

2. Edward "Ed" C. Eckroat was born May 23rd 1912 in Oklahoma. He married Kathryn F. Zawisza (Zawiza) on November 28th 1934. Kathryn F. Zawisza was born on Dec. 30th 1913. Edward C. Eckroat is buried at St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery in Piqua, Kansas.

3. Imelda Eckroat was born in 1916. She married J.O. Bishop and had three children: Jimmy, Charles, and Patricia. After the death of J.O. Bishop she remarried to Mr. Skibb and lived in Oklahoma City.

OBITUARY: Charles W. Eckroat

A member of a pioneer family died when death came to Charles W. Eckroat on April 10, at his farm near Dickson, Okla. which is on Route 4, Oklahoma City. Mr. Eckroat had been ill for a number of years.

Requiem Mass was celebrated on April 13, in Corpus Christi church, by his cousin, Rev. Alphonse Baechler, chaplain in Sheppard Field, Wichita Falls, Texas. Interment was in the family plot at Fairlawn where he was placed by the side of his father. His six brothers were the pall bearers.

Born on Feb. 12, 1887, in Dodge County, Nebraska, son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Eckroat, Mr. Eckroat came as a child in 1892, to Oklahoma where his parents bought a farm southwest of Oklahoma City, now part of Packingtown. He was married in St. Joseph's church to Miss Mary King, who survives him with their four children, Edward, Ted and Margaret of the home address, and Mrs. J. O. (Mildred) Bishop of Oklahoma City. Also by his mother, Mrs. Mary Eckroat of 601 N.E. Tenth street, and six brothers and four sisters, Frank Eckroat, Mission, Texas, John, William, Dan, Lawrence and Paul Eckroat of Oklahoma City; Sister Mary Philomena, Sister of Mercy St. Joseph's school; Mrs Mary Koelsch, Mrs. John King and Mrs. E.S. Swirszynski, all of Oklahoma City. Also four grandchildren survive Mr. Eckroat.
